Established in 1919, and rich with history, C Lazy U ranch is a family-owned and authentic working horse ranch with over 200 horses who call this amazing property home. And no, that is not a typo...over 200 horses reside here in open pastures.

Situated on  8500acres of unforgettable 360 degree mountain views, and with only 38 Luxury Cabins;  this with be one of Christine's most secluded, intimate and memorable WordsWork retreat yet.

 

Only Guests staying at the ranch may access the property, and are also lucky enough to see what is called the "Jingle".  Each morning all  200horses are wrangled in from the fields into their corrals to be available for riding, to be fed and groomed, or to just simply admire their beauty.

Each evening all  200 horses are led back out to the rolling hills and pastures where they are free to roam.

In addition to horses, the ranch has nearly endless activities onsite that our attendees will have included access to:

 

Guided horseback rides, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, archery and hatchet-throwing, fat tire snow bikes, as well as ice skating and hockey on their frozen pond. Warm up by one of the many fireplaces around the property ; or take a dip in the hot tub after a work-out in the onsite gym. After dinner, grab a libation and head to play billiards in the Game Room.

 

The price for the above activities is included in your booking; and all you need to pack for these activities is yourself and winter attire!

Optional, add-on, activities such as on-property Snowmobiling*, nearby  World-Class Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding*,  are other fantastic ways to explore all of the splendor the Colorado Rocky Mountains have to offer. Or simply relax and add-on a massage or treatment at the onsite Spa*

• Offsite skiing* or snowboarding* at nearby ski resorts (C Lazy U does however provide a complimentary shuttle to nearby ski areas though)

This retreat will be focused on time with horses, and don't worry if you have never ridden before! The experienced on-staff Wranglers have welcomed and assisted beginners of all ages from 3 to 93.

​

Should you choose not to ride, or have special needs in which you are not able to ride a horse 

(or any other physical activities included) please put any worry at ease! Wordswork is an inclusive retreat and there can be other ways to be included in the very same activities. Please simply note any special needs or requests you may have at the time of registration; as some modifications to portions of the final itinerary may need to be prepared for in advance.

ABOUT THE CABINS AND OCCUPANCY

​

The cabins are smartly designed as they can be booked either as a single unit or can be enjoyed by a number of guests together with several options to connect spaces. Because cabins can be joined many different ways, pricing is per person, and not based directly on single or double occupancy.
